Comprehensive immigration reform has been a recent news topic. A Politico article attempts to reconcile House Speaker John Boehner recent position on immigration reform with the White House’s interpretation of that position.
Valerie Jarrett, a senior advisor in the Obama administration, recently told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that she thinks there’s a window “this summer, between now and August, to get something done. The Review-Journal article quotes Jarrett as saying: “We have a commitment from Speaker Boehner, who’s very frustrated with his caucus.”
House Speaker John Boehner’s staff says he has not made a commitment to the White House on comprehensive immigration reform this year, pushing back against comments made by Jarrett.
Friday Jarrett tweeted that her comments were misconstrued and that “Boehner has made [a] commitment to trying, not that he has made commitment to us or [a] time frame.”
